Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase from The Tack House. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or other applicable New Zealand law.
CHANGE OF MIND
Please choose carefully.
We are not required to provide a refund simply because you have changed your mind, purchased the wrong item or no longer require it.
Where appropriate, we may agree to an exchange or store credit at our discretion, provided the item is returned promptly and in the same condition in which it was purchased. This does not apply to pre-loved items, only new items and giftware.
ONLINE PURCHASES
· Contact us within 7 days of receiving an eligible item if it is unsuitable.
· The item must be returned promptly and be unused other than reasonably necessary to establish fit.
· It must be in the same new condition in which it was received.
· Original packaging and tags should be included where applicable.
· Unless the item is faulty, incorrectly supplied or otherwise required by law, return freight is the buyer's responsibility.
PRE-LOVED EQUIPMENT
Please remember that pre-loved means pre-loved.
Second-hand items will generally show some signs of previous use, and these will vary according to the item's age and history.
We make reasonable efforts to accurately photograph and describe the condition of pre-loved equipment and disclose significant faults or damage that we are aware of.
Normal wear that has been disclosed, photographed or would reasonably be expected for an item of its age and condition is not considered a fault.
If you would like additional photographs, measurements or information before purchasing an item online, please contact us. We're happy to help.
Pre-loved purchased cannot be exchanged or returned, so please choose carefully.
SADDLES
We understand that saddle fit cannot always be determined from measurements and photographs alone.
Specific conditions may apply to saddles purchased subject to a trial ride arrangement. Please refer to our Saddle Trial Policy.
A saddle must not be altered, damaged, excessively marked or modified during a trial ride.
FAULTY OR MIS-DESCRIBED GOODS
If you believe an item is faulty, unsafe, materially different from its description or otherwise does not meet your rights under New Zealand consumer law, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask you to provide photographs and other information and, where appropriate, return the item so that we can assess the issue.
Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, any remedy will be provided in accordance with the Act.
RETURN CONDITION
Horse gear must be returned in the same new condition you purchased it.
Equipment returned covered in hair, sweat, dirt or other contamination will not be accepted as a change-of-mind or discretionary return.
Please take care when trying items on your horse. Where practical, use a clean barrier underneath the item until you are satisfied that you intend to keep it.
RETURN SHIPPING
Unless the return results from an error by The Tack House, a fault for which we are responsible, or another circumstance where we are legally required to meet the cost, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
We strongly recommend using tracked shipping for returned items.
The buyer remains responsible for a return until it is safely received by The Tack House.
IN-STORE PURCHASES
We encourage you to inspect and, where appropriate, try items before purchasing them.
We do not provide refunds for change of mind on in-store purchases.
At our discretion, we may offer an exchange or store credit where an unused item is returned promptly and in its original condition.
Your statutory rights in relation to faulty or mis-described goods remain unaffected.
